There is an old saying “old is gold” but time and again i have seen big brands neglect it.
I am referring to yet another brand overhaul we have witnessed overnight is the Instagram logo redesign. I have similar feelings i shared for the Uber logo redesign (you can catch up on my hilarious views on Uber logo redesign here)
Anyway the striking resemblance of the Instagram logo to the popular condom brand durex is nothing less than funny.
Even in a daily life affair where people take extra care of wearing clothes and looking different compared to their fellow beings and peers here is Instagram trying to show some sisterly love to its so-so brand look alike Durex. Recent times have shown popular companies like Airbnb and Uber doing a makeover and facing the flak of the design fraternity across.
I have always been a strong believer in “If the sequel is not better than the prequel it ain’t worth producing it. Push it under the carpet”
Change is inevitable but its got to be worth it and most importantly relevant!
Whether we needed this new logo or not it has surely got some good jokes revolving around it if nothing.
